Position Title: Oracle and MS SQL Database Administrator
Line of Business (LOB): SAP Operations & Enterprise Analytics
Engagement Duration: June 2, 2025, to June 30, 2027 – 20 hours per week
Location and Schedule: 20 hours per week required. May be off hours. Offsite work is acceptable. Candidates may be requested to attend periodic onsite sessions with at least 4 weeks’ notice.
Additional Time Off: The candidate will have days off between Christmas and New Year’s, as well as the Monday after Easter.
Mandatory Experience and Qualifications:
- Database Expertise: 3 to 5 years of experience in Oracle and MS SQL database administration.
- Certifications:
- Microsoft Certified Professional or equivalent.
- Oracle Certified Professional or equivalent.
- System Administration Proficiency:
- Experience with Microsoft Server, Azure, and related products from a system administration perspective.
- Proficiency in VMware.
- Proficiency in Azure and Windows Administration.
- Technical Documentation: Ability to create technical documentation and user guides for new systems or updates.
- Security Management: Experience in setting up and managing system permissions to ensure security.
Desirable Experience:
- Database Installation and Configuration: Experience in installing and configuring Oracle and MS SQL databases on various operating systems, including setting up database instances and configuring network connectivity.
- Performance Tuning and Optimization: Proficiency in monitoring and optimizing database performance by analyzing metrics, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing tuning techniques.
Deliverables:
- Backup and Recovery Plans: Develop and maintain comprehensive backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability.
- Performance Tuning Reports: Analyze and optimize database performance, identifying bottlenecks, implementing tuning techniques, and providing detailed reports on performance improvements.
- Security Configuration Standards: Implement and maintain security measures to protect the database from unauthorized access and threats, including configuring user authentication, authorization, and encryption settings.
- Database Health Checks and Monitoring: Conduct regular health checks and monitoring to ensure the database is running smoothly, including checking for issues, monitoring system performance, and generating reports on overall database health.

The Oracle and MS SQL Database Administrator will be responsible for the comprehensive management of the organization’s database systems, ensuring their optimal performance, security, and reliability.
